Blade Runner is coming

Secret Cinema have announced their their first film of 2018 will be special immersive screenings of the classic Blade Runner.

Following the success of the acclaimed sequel Blade Runner: 2049, now Secret Cinema will be staging the final cut of Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi cult classic.

Screenings will start on March 1, with tickets available here from 12pm on Thursday February 1.

This follows from past runs of classic films like 28 Days Later, Moulin Rouge, Star Wars: The Empire Strike Back and Back To The Future – inviting audience members to dress up as the cast and live out the film among actors in an immersive environment. Set in a neon dystopian future, Blade Runner looks set to be one of the most impressive displays yet.

Meanwhile, director Ridley Scott recently revealed that he is planning yet another Blade Runner sequel.

“I think there is another story,” he said. “I’ve got another one ready to evolve and be developed, so there is certainly one to be done for sure.”

Blade Runner 2049 was released 25 years after the original movie, and under-performed at the box office upon release. Across 4,058 sites in North America (nearly four times more than the original), the sequel made $31.5 million (£24 million) – $20 million under expectations.
