See Michael Keaton as the man who launched McDonald’s in ‘The Founder’

First image of Keaton as fast food pioneer Ray Kroc revealed

The first official photo of Michael Keaton as McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc in The Founder has been revealed online.

The image shows Keaton as Kroc outside during an opening of one of its restaurants in Minnesota.
The film tells the story of how Kroc turned a small restaurant in California into one of the biggest companies in the world.

In the ’50s Kroc discovered the restaurant run by Richard ‘Dick’ and Maurice ‘Mac’ McDonald and saw potential in their business. By 1961 he had taken control of the company from the brothers, buying the chain for $2.7 million.

Keaton has been on a roll recently, starring in the critically-acclaimed Spotlight, as well as being nominated for Best Actor in last year’s Academy Award for his role in Birdman.

The Founder is currently in post-production, the film’s director, John Lee Hancock has previously worked on Saving Mr. Banks and the script is written by Robert D. Siegel, who is best known for writing the screenplay for The Wrestler.

The film is set to be released in the US on August 5 though a UK date remains unconfirmed.
