Shia LaBeouf is spending 24 hours riding up and down a lift in Oxford

The stunt is the latest of the actor's art projects

Shia LaBeouf is currently occupying a lift in Oxford for 24 hours, a stunt that’s the latest of the actor’s recent art projects.

The star, who previously made headlines by livestreaming himself watching all his own films at a cinema, will speak at the Oxford Union on Friday evening.

Before and after his talk, he is riding up and elevator at the EC Oxford language school in Gloucester Green, along with collaborators Nastja Rönkkö and Luke Turner. He began the art performance at 9am and will continue until the same time on Saturday.

LaBeouf previously watched 30 films that he has starred in, from November 10 to November 12, at the Angelika Film Center in New York.

Following the performance, the actor said that he “walked out loving myself”.

Shia LaBeouf has also said that he embraced performance art because he felt “limited” by Transformers movies.
