Follow up from the producers of 'Insidious' to start shooting next week
Sinister 2 will start filming next week in Chicago. Cast and plot details have been revealed.
The first film was released in 2012 and starred Ethan Hawke as a true-crime writer who found a box of home movies in his attic that put him and his family in grave danger from demonic child snatching entity Bagul.
From the producers of Paranormal Activity and Insidious the follow up will star Shannyn Sossamon (TV’sWayward Pines) and real-life twins Robert and Dartanian Sloan.
The official synopsis teases: “In the aftermath of the shocking events in Sinister, a protective mother (Sossamon) and her 9-year-old twin sons (the Sloan brothers) find themselves in a rural house marked for death.
James Ransone (Ziggy in The Wire season 2), who portrayed the concerned sheriff’s deputy in Sinister, will be reprising his character in Sinister 2.”
Original director Scott Derrickson (Deliver Us From Evil) co-wrote the script with C. Robert Cargill but is replaced behind the camera by Ciaran Foy (Citadel).
