‘Skyfall’ is second-longest Bond movie ever

The 23rd Bond movie has a running time of 142 minutes – exceeded only by 'Casino Royale'

Skyfall is set to be the second-longest Bond movie ever.

On the British Board of Film Classification website, Skyfall has a listed running time of 142 minutes. Only 2006’s Casino Royale, which stretched to 144 minutes, ran longer.

The BBFC also confirmed that Skyfall will carry a 12A certificate for “moderate action violence and one use of strong language” when it opens in UK cinemas later this month (October 2012).

Meanwhile, the first Bond movie directed by Sam Mendes has been lavished with praise in early reviews. Both Daniel Craig, making his third appearance as 007, and Javier Bardem, who plays the film’s main villain, have been singled out by film critics.

Skyfall, the 23rd Bond movie, will arrive in UK cinemas on October 26. Alongside Craig and Bardem, the film boasts a bumper cast including Ben Whishaw, Judi Dench, Albert Finney, Naomie Harris and Ralph Fiennes. You can watch the trailer below.

Adele‘s theme song for the movie, also called ‘Skyfall’, was tipped for the top spot in yesterday’s Official UK Singles Chart, but was beaten to Number One by Swedish House Mafia’s ‘Don’t You Worry Child’.
