Duo will also play a DJ set at London's BFI in August
Summer Camp are to play a live version of their soundtrack for new movie ‘Beyond Clueless’ at London’s BFI on August 8. The London duo will also play a DJ set after the screening. Tickets for the screening go on sale on July 8. Summer Camp release the film’s soundtrack on August 4.
Described as “part-documentary, part-essay and part-experimental driftwork”, ‘Beyond Clueless’ by first-time director Charlie Lyne cuts up scenes from over 200 teen movies, with linking narration by actor Fairuza Balk. It’s designed as a homage to classic 1995 teen movie ‘Clueless’.
London director Lyne began the film blog ‘Ultra Culture’ in 2008, which he continues to edit, as well as contributing to BBC1’s ‘Film’ programme hosted by Claudia Winkleman. His previous directing roles include short film ‘Death/Hitchcock’ in 2011 and the video for ‘Hey There’ by Homepage.
Summer Camp play the William’s Green stage at Glastonbury on Friday at 3pm, before further festival appearances at Latitude, Deer Shed and Long Division.
