Susan Sarandon responds to ‘cleavage-shaming’ comments from Piers Morgan

Morgan called Sarandon's SAG Awards outfit 'tacky' and 'inappropriate'

Susan Sarandon has responded to a barrage of criticism from Piers Morgan, who accused her of wearing an “inappropriate” and “tacky” outfit to last weekend’s Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.

The actress wore a low-cut white blazer which showed her cleavage to the LA awards ceremony on Saturday night, where she appeared on stage to present a ‘In Memoriam’ segment which led off with a tribute to David Bowie.

Morgan expressed disdain for the outfit on Twitter, calling it “horribly inappropriate” and “very tacky” because Sarandon was appearing at the SAG Awards to pay tribute to entertainment industry figures who had passed away. Check out a selection of his tweets below.

Sarandon has now appeared to brush off his comments with a humorous “#throwbackthursday” post, which she has made the “pinned tweet” at the top of her Twitter feed. Check it out below.

After being accused of “cleavage-shaming” by a portion of his Twitter followers, some of whom have tweeted “cleavage pictures” at him in protest, Morgan sought to clarify his stance on the issue earlier today (February 5).

“Seems to be some massive misunderstanding that I am anti-cleavage. I’m only anti-cleavage during In Memoriam tributes to dead people,” he explained.
