Get a first look at Benedict Cumberbatch as The Grinch in new trailer

The 'Sherlock' actor will take on the famous Dr. Seuss-created character in the new film, which is set for release in November

The first-look trailer for the latest adaptation of The Grinch – which stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular character – has been released today (March 8) – check out the preview clip below.

Dr. Seuss’ much-loved character will be brought to life once again for the new film, which is set for release on November 9. Illumination Entertainment, who were behind the Despicable Me! and Minions films, have produced the movie.

Cumberbatch will voice the eponymous Grinch in the film, and movie fans have been treated to a first look at the latest iteration of the character in the form of The Grinch‘s first official trailer.

Introducing the Grinch’s grumpy demeanour – as well as his hate for the Pharrell song ‘Happy’ – the trailer also gives a glimpse of Whoville and its residents. You can watch the new trailer for The Grinch below.

The Grinch has been directed by Scott Mosier and Yarrow Cheney, with a script penned by Michael LeSieur.
