Sequel to much loved TV series will be released in August

The first poster for The Inbetweeners 2 has been revealed.

The poster shows all four of the film’s main characters – Simon, Jay, Will and Neil – walking through the Australian outback. It carries two straplines, “Four Reasons To Get Out of Autralia” and “Soz, Oz.”

The film, which is the sequel to 2011’s caper The Inbetweeners Movie, will be released on August 6, 2014. Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison are all reprising their roles from the popular TV series, with show creators Iain Morris and Damon Beesley serving as writers and directors for the Australia set adventure.

Speaking previously about the film, Morris and Beesley said: “We can’t say too much as we don’t want to spoil the jokes for you, but what we can exclusively reveal is there will be kangaroos. And Australians. And possibly koalas.

“Oh and obviously Jay, Will, Neil and Simon providing they’re let into the country. Thanks so much for all your support, we’re hoping to deliver a film that you’ll enjoy even more than the last one.”

The Inbetweeners Movie followed the show’s crew of not-quite-cool teenagers on a holiday to Crete. It became the highest-grossing comedy film in UK box office history with takings of £45million.
