Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Sacha Baron Cohen to appear in ‘Anchorman 2’

Liam Neeson has also been spotted on set

Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Sacha Baron Cohen have filmed a scene together for Anchorman 2.

Set photographs obtained by Huffington Post show Fey and Poehler attacking Cohen, who is lying on the ground, with a crowbar. Liam Neeson has also been spotted shooting a scene with the film’s star Will Ferrell.

Harrison Ford has already filmed an Anchorman 2 cameo and branded the experience “bizarre”. Nicole Kidman and Vince Vaughn also make cameo appearances.

The newsroom sequel – officially titled Anchorman: The Legend Continues – started shooting in March in Atlanta, Georgia. Original cast members Will Ferrell, David Koechner, Paul Rudd and Christina Applegate are all reprising their roles from the first film. Meanwhile, new additions to the cast include Kristen Wiig, James Marsden and John C Reilly.

Released in 2004, the original Anchorman was a parody of a ’70s TV newsroom written by Ferrell and director Adam McKay. The pair have also teamed up to write the sequel, which is slated for release on December 20.

Speaking last year, director McKay revealed a few teasers about the sequel’s plot, saying: “I don’t want to give away too much, but I’ll just give a couple of ideas that we’ve kicked around. Keep in mind we’re still writing the story, but I’ll say one phrase for you: custody battle. I’ll give you that. I’ll give you another one: bowling for dollars.”
