Fey is apparently scouting for film roles now that '30 Rock' has ended
Tina Fey is set to team up with Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore for a new comedy movie.
According to Deadline, Moore is “in negotiations” to direct The Nest, which Fey will star in and produce. The film follows a pair of thirtysomething sisters who spend “a last wild weekend together” in their childhood home after finding out the house is up for sale.
The film’s script was written by Paula Pell, a longtime writer on Saturday Night Live, the sketch show in which Fey made her name in the ’90s. Pell also served as an executive producer on Judd Apatow‘s This Is 40, which opens in cinemas this Thursday (February 4).
Fey is said to be scouting for film roles now her long-running sitcom 30 Rock has ended. She recently co-hosted the Golden Globe awards with Amy Poehler and has a supporting role in the new Muppets movie starring Ricky Gervais, which started shooting in London last month (January).
Director Jason Moore is best known for helming Broadway musicals, but he made his movie debut with last year’s Pitch Perfect, which became an unexpected hit at the box office. The musical comedy film, which stars Rebel Wilson and Anna Kendrick, has now grossed over $108 million (£69 million) worldwide. Scroll down and click ‘play’ to watch the trailer.
