Actor appeared on The Graham Norton Show over the weekend

Tom Hanks has discussed his wife’s love for his “buttocks” in his famous Forrest Gump running scene.

Hanks starred as the titular character in the 1994 film. The actor appeared on BBC’s The Graham Norton Show over the weekend, revealing how his wife, Rita Wilson, reacts to one of the movie’s most memorable scenes.

“I had worked out quite a bit. I must say that my buttocks, as Forrest would say, were as firm as tinned hams,” Hanks recalled.

“Every now and again, if the [film] comes on cable, my wife will say ‘Just leave it [on], honey. I want to see that one scene where you’re running away from the camera. Look at that fine Hanks ass!’… In the day, even I think it was a beautiful thing to behold.”

Elsewhere in the Norton interview, Tom Hanks addressed a recent viral photo and revealed whether it was actually him or Bill Murray. He also said that “intimidating” Clint Eastwood “treats actors like horses”.

Hanks stars in Eastwood’s latest film Sully, already a huge hit in the US. The two-time Oscar-winning actor plays Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger, the commercial airline pilot hailed an American hero after he managed to land his plane safely on New York City’s Hudson River in 2009.

Meanwhile, Hanks recently teamed up with Ellen DeGeneres, Bruce Springsteen and Robert De Niro to attempt the Mannequin Challenge at the White House.
