Uncut version of comedy will be open in cinemas for one week
A trailer for the R-rated version of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues has been revealed.
Although Will Ferrell’s comedy film was only released in December last year (2013), there were enough outtakes and improvised scenes from shooting to release a different version of the film. The uncut picture will be open in US cinemas for one week from February 28, and claims to boast an extra “763 new jokes”.
Alongside Ferrell, Steve Carell, David Koechner, Paul Rudd and Christina Applegate all reprised their roles from the first Anchorman film for the sequel, while James Marsden appeared as a rival news anchor and Kristen Wiig joined the cast as the wife of Carell’s character, Brick.
Rapper Kanye West also made a cameo in the film. Speaking about his involvement, Ferrell said: “It was very surreal to have Kanye – who’s such a big fan of comedy – in our movie hanging out for two days. He was playing the new tracks a lot – over and over. Even when you’re trying to film, he’s playing the tracks.”
