Vince Vaughn to star alongside Will Ferrell in ‘Daddy’s Gone’

The Paramount Pictures film is to be directed by Etan Cohen

Vince Vaughn has signed up to star alongside Will Ferrell in Daddy’s Gone.

The pair will team-up together in the new Paramount Pictures comedy directed by first-time feature film director Etan Cohen, the writer behind Tropic Thunder, Madagascar 2 and Men In Black 3, reports Deadline.

The film, written by Brian Burns, Anchorman‘s Adam McKay, Chris Henchy and Cohen, tells the story of a polite radio station boss (Ferrell) who strives to become the best stepdad to his wife’s two children, but problems arise when their freeloading father (Vaughn) arrives back on the scene, forcing them both to compete for the kids’ affections.

Ferrell and McKay will produce the film through Gary Sanchez productions, alongside Good Universe’s Joe Drake, Nathan Kahane, Matt Leonetti and Spencer Wong. The film is due to begin shooting in autumn 2013.

Meanwhile, Vince Vaughn can next be seen starring alongside Owen Wilson in The Internship. The film is the actors’ first project together since 2005’s comedy hit The Wedding Crashers. Written by Vaughn, it tells the story of two men in their forties who become unlikely Google interns after being made redundant. You can watch a trailer for it below.

Vaughn has also reprised his role as Wes Mantooth for Anchorman 2.
