The pair are both huge fans of the Chicago Cubs
A new video has surfaced showing comedian Bill Murray and Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder singing together at a party.
The clip of Murray and Vedder was taken following their baseball side, the Chicago Cubs, win over the Cleveland Indians on Saturday evening (October 29). Both are noted fans of the Cubs, who are currently competing in the MLB World Series. You can watch the three-minute video below.
The pair were joined by blues artist Derek Trucks in the jam, where they sang and played a cover of The Band’s 1968 song, ‘The Weight’.
A day earlier on Friday evening, Murray appeared for an impromptu performance of ‘Take Me Out To The Ball Game’ for his beloved Cubs.
On Sunday, Vedder also led a rendition of the song – a tradition at baseball games in North America.
Their Chicago Cubs are currently tied with Cleveland Indians in the Best of Seven series, and makes the first time that the Cubs have competed in the championship game since 1945. The team have not won the series in over a century.
Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan is less enthused about the possibility of the team winning the title, and has slammed fair weather fans. “I don’t talk to other Cubs celebrities,” he said. “In fact, I’m anti-Cubs celebrity. Although I know a few Cubs celebrities, other Cubs celebrities tend to show up when the playoffs are around. I don’t necessarily see them in June. I might be a little biased being a Chicagoan year-round.”
