It alludes to the nail-biting cliffhanger at the end of season six
A three-minute trailer for The Walking Dead‘s seventh season has debuted at the show’s Comic Con panel in San Diego today (July 22). Scroll down to watch.
Like the recently-released posters for season seven, the trailer alludes to the cliffhanger ending of season six, which saw an unidentified character being beaten by the Saviors’ leader, Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Though the identity of the assaulted character remains unknown, the comic books of the same name see Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) as the victim of the attack. However, the season seven posters and trailer continue to suggest that a number of characters may have ended up on the receiving end of Negan’s wire-wrapped baseball bat.
Some fans were so frustrated by the cliffhanger ending of season six that they even started a petition to compel AMC to reveal the character attacked by Negan. So far, the network has not granted their request.
Season seven of The Walking Dead is due to debut on AMC in the US and FOX in the UK this October. Fans attending Comic Con in San Diego, which runs until Sunday (July 24), are being encouraged to head to “Booth 4237” to find out more about the upcoming season.
