Gary Sanchez Productions developing animated film for the big screen
Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are hoping to bring The Flintstones back to the big screen with a new full-length animated movie in the works.
The production duo will work with writer Chris Henchy, who is partners with Ferrell and McKay as part of Gary Sanchez Productions and will pen the script. His most recent credit is the Zach Galifianakis comedy The Campaign.
The Hollywood Reporter states that Ferrell and McKay will executive produce The Flintstones, which is in the development stages.
The Flintstones last appeared on the big screen in a live-action 1994 movie that starred John Goodman, Elizabeth Perkins, Rick Moranis, and Rosie O’Donnell. Elizabeth Taylor played Flintstone’s mother-in-law. Steven Spielberg was one of the film’s producers.
