“Your life has been cut short, but I will always tell everyone about you. You were kind, present, old souled, curious, brilliant, funny, humble, honest, and undeniably talent. Good bye Anton, it was an honor to have crossed paths with you.”

Saldana had previously worked with the actor in the Star Trek series in her role as Lieutenant Uhura, alongside Yelchin’s Pavel Chekov.

She also paid tribute to him in a heartfelt tweet earlier this week, writing: “Devastated by our friend’s loss. We are mourning his passing and celebrating the beautiful spirit that he was. #RIPAnton”

The 27-year-old actor was killed in a freak accident last Sunday, when his car rolled down a steep driveway at his home, pinning him against a fence and mailbox pillar.
