FINLEY GETS SPIRITUAL Finley Quaye Tickets
nme.com is first with the news on the Brit Award-winning star's follow-up to 97's 'Maverick A Strike'...
The song is taken from his second album 'Vanguard', which is slated for release on October 2. The follow-up to his 1997 debut 'Maverick A Strike' album has been recorded in North London with his regular band.
Speaking to NME, Finley said: "I wrote 'Spiritulaized' when I was going through a time when I was having my second child during a really intense and busy part of my life. It kind of reflects how I was feeling at the time. I wanted to adopt different ways to deal with different situations. "You have to be quite adaptable and graceful sometimes and sometimes you have to be hard. It's been quite a crazy period dealing with business and family life."
While 'Spiritualized' is a fast-paced rock track, a spokesperson for Finley told NME: "The rest of the album is not such a departure - there's a mixture of typically Finley tracks. He's used a lot of traditional instruments like timpani drums and African drums."
Finley will be taking the road in October and November to promote the new record, which includes new tracks 'Broadcast' and 'When I Burn Off Into The Distance'.
