The Flaming Lips give fans the chance to dance onstage

The Flaming Lips are giving their fans the opportunity to dance onstage with them at their New Year’s Eve show at the University of Southern California Galen Center in Los Angeles.

The band regularly invite local fans on stage to dance with them in costume - currently Santas and aliens representing Christianity and Scientology - while touring, but are widening the net for their end of year show.

The band are inviting fans to submit a three-minute dance audition video to any Flaming Lips song, by uploading it to YouTube.

Fans must also fill in a entry form at Flaminglips.com.

The New Year’s Eve show in Los Angeles will see the band perform alongside Gnarls Barkley.
