Florence and The Machine play tiny show at BBC Electric Proms
Metronomy support as bands play low-key gig
Florence Welch was accompanied by a string quintet at the Camden Roundhouse Studio Theatre, and played crowd favourites such as 'Dog Days Are Over', 'Between Two Lungs' and 'Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)', before finishing the nine-song set with her cover of Candi Staton's 'You've Got the Love'.
Surrounded by bird cages and flowers, Welch told the crowd: "I know it's meant to be electric, but we've kind of gone acoustic. We’re kind of doing the Electric Proms backwards, but forgive us."
The band were supported by Metronomy – with celebrity fan Rich Fulcher, who plays Bob Fossil in 'The Mighty Boosh' TV comedy, in the crowd. "I love Metronomy – I think they were amazing!" Fulcher told NME.COM. I rocked and I weaved, I bobbed up and down, I did all the dance things that you’re supposed to do!"
Florence And The Machine played:
'Between Two Lungs'
'My Boy Builds Coffins'
'Hurricane Drunk'
'Cosmic Love'
'If I Had a Heart'
'I'm Not Calling You A Liar'
'Dog Days Are Over'
'Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)'
'You’ve Got the Love'
