Florence And The Machine have announced a short UK arena tour for later this year.

The band, who headlined last weekend's Bestival on Friday (September 7), will play five shows across the country in December.

The gigs begin at Exeter Westpoint Arena on December 4 and runs until December 10, when the band play Liverpool Echo Arena. The trek also includes gigs at London's O2 Arena, Coventry's Ricoh Arena and Aberdeen's AECC.

The band released their second album 'Ceremonials' in October of last year and their frontwoman Florence Welch recently revealed that she is now thinking about its follow-up and has "written a whole album in my head".

Last month the singer hinted that she would be taking a year off from music as she wanted to take a 12-month hiatus before she started work on the follow-up to her last studio LP, last October's 'Ceremonials'.

It seems, however, that Welch is still stopped plotting ideas for the next time she enters the studio. Speaking of her vision for the record, she said: "I've been thinking about it a lot. I think I've written a whole album in my head."

Florence And The Machine will play:

Exeter Westpoint Arena (December 4)
London O2 Arena (5)
Coventry Ricoh Arena (8)
Aberdeen AECC (9)
Liverpool Echo Arena (10)
