Florence And The Machine's Florence Welch is seemingly working on new material with musician and producer MNEK.

MNEK, who has previously worked with the likes of Little Mix and Rudimental in addition to providing remixes for the likes of Olly Murs and Tinie Tempah, would seem an unlikely collaborator for Welch, but he revealed via Twitter yesterday (August 14) that he was currently working with the 'Ceremonials' singer in the studio. You can see his Tweet below.

Welch released her second album 'Ceremonials' in October 2011. The follow-up to her 2009 debut 'Lungs', the LP debuted at Number One on the UK Albums Chart while the LP's lead single, 'Shake It Out', won the Best Track gong at the NME Awards 2012.

The singer recently contributed a brand new song called 'Over The Love' to Jay Z's official soundtrack to the The Great Gatsby, which you can hear by clicking at the bottom of the page, and has also performed covers of Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' and Icona Pop's 'I Love It'.

It was also recently reported that Welch was being lined up for a role in the new Star Wars trilogy. The Sun said that studio executives were keen to make unexpected casting decisions rather than use established A-list actresses, and that Welch was being considered for a "major part" in the sci-fi franchise, which is being helmed by director JJ Abrams.

"She has done some acting but it was her singing onstage that initially caught the eye," said a source. "Almost every actress in Hollywood wants a role in the new movies but we are keen to cast people who are unexpected. Florence is being considered for a major part that would turn her into an A-list actress overnight."
