Foals to warm up for Blur show with intimate London gig

Oxford band to play Lexington venue

Foals are set to play an intimate show in London on July 1 to warm up for their appearance supporting Blur the following day (July 2).

The Oxford band will play at the Lexington venue the day before heading to Hyde Park where they will support the reunited Britpoppers along with Crystal Castles and Golden Silvers.

Announcing the gig on their official MySpace page, Myspace.com/foals, the band said they planned to play new songs from their forthcoming second album at the show, which they are currently working on.

They also wrote that they may be joined by some "special guests" at the Lexington gig.

Foals brave the heat at Lollapalooza, Saturday August 2. Performing on the second day of festivities, the Oxford-based mathletes won a number of new fans, with 'Balloons' in particular sparking an outbreak of enthusiastic dancing. Frontman Yannis Philippakis didn't seem to enjoy it though, grumpily telling the crowd, "This is probably the last time we'll play outside."
