Foals took a break from recording their new album last night (September 25) to play a London show to help celebrate the fifth anniversary of the formation of their record label, Transgressive.
The Oxford band played a selection of new and unfinished songs at the show including 'Spanish Sahara' and 'Death Surf', at the Heaven venue, with frontman Yannis Philippakis leaping into the crowd mid-set.
"We're going back to Sweden (to record the album) tomorrow," the singer/guitarist told the crowd before his crowd leap. "So if anyone wants to come and visit us please do, it's pretty lonely."
Earlier in the set the band had opened with 'XXXX'. They went on to play fan favourites 'Balloons', 'Cassius', and an untitled new song which so far is instrumental.
They ended with an encore comprised of 'Death Surf' and 'Two Steps, Twice'.
Foals played:
'XXXX'
'The French Open'
'Olympic Airways'
'Balloons'
'Spanish Sahara'
'Cassius'
Untitled new song
'Electric Bloom'
'Red Sox Pugie'
'Death Surf'
'Two Steps, Twice'
