Foals returned to the Leeds Festival today (August 28), inciting fans to crowdsurf their way towards them as they played on the NME/Radio 1 Stage.

The Oxford band have played rammed shows on both this and the Festival Republic Stage in recent years. Again today they were greeted by a huge crowd - with frontman Yannis Philippakis returning the crowdsurf gestures by leaping into the front row repeatedly.

They opened their set with the title track from recent second album 'Total Life Forever', playing three further songs from that album and five from their 2008 debut, 'Antidotes'.

The singer/guitarist earned more cheers near the end of the show by climbing the stage rigging.

Foals ended their set with a frenetic version of 'Antidotes' cut 'Two Steps, Twice'. "Hope to see you next year," Philippakis said before leaving the stage.

Foals played:

'Total Life Forever'
'Cassius'
'Balloons'
'Miami'
'Afterglow'
'Spanish Sahara'
'Red Socks Pugie'
'Electric Bloom'
'Two Steps, Twice'
