Foals, The Cribs' Johnny Marr, The Maccabees and Wild Beasts have given their verdicts on this year's band of the summer.

The artists have championed their favourite bands as part of NME's 2010 Festival Survey, which saw The Libertines take the title of the summer's Defining Festival Moment and Best Festival Comeback.

As for the bands, Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis voted for Holy Fuck as his Band Of The Summer, in a video you can watch on your right.

"They are a band that every time I've seen them live have really nailed it, so they deserve it," he said.

The Maccabees frontman Orlando Weeks chose The National following their performance on the Other Stage at Glastonbury.

"The National definitely," he said. "I saw them at Glastonbury and it was amazing, just brilliant."

"I think The Walkmen have been absolutely incredible and they're a band deserving of much higher praise," added guitarist Felix White.

The Cribs and former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr voted for Broken Social Scene, while Wild Beasts went for Foals.
