Foals to play New Year show at Manchester's Warehouse Project
Oxford five-piece to see out 2011 with Tom Vek and Friendly Fires
Foals have lined up plans for a New Year show in Manchester.
The Oxford five-piece will perform at the city's Warehouse Project on December 30 with Tom Vek and Chad Valley. The night will also include a DJ set from Friendly Fires. For more information go to Thewarehouseproject.com.
The gig will be the band's first in the UK since they performed at the Latitude Festival over the summer. It will probably be the last show they play from their 2010 album 'Total Life Forever' before they go into the studio to start recording sessions for their third album.
They recently headlined this year's Lake Of Stars festival in Malawi alongside reggae outfit Black Missionaries, afropop legend Lucius Banda and emerging talents Maskal and Skeffa Chimoto. The Maccabees and Noisettes have played in previous years.
The band joked earlier this year that they wanted to bring Phil Collins out of retirement to work with them. Collins, who has suffered from nerve damage, hearing problems and back pain, called time on his 40-year career in March.
