Members of Foals and Friendly Fires have banded together to set up a new club night in London.

The first instalment of the night, which is called Deep Shit, will take place at Plastic People on Curtain Road in Hoxton on February 24, and will feature DJ sets from Orlando Higginbottom of Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs as well as from the night's founders, Jack Savidge of Friendly Fires - pictured below - and Edwin Congreave of Foals.

Of the house night's music policy, the Deep Shit press release states: "Having ruined the hopes and dreams of thousands of young indie music fans by rocking up to their DJ gigs with a nothing but techno, they've now decided to establish a clear home for themselves here in London - a place for deep, intense party music."

Friendly Fires recently revealed that they will be starting work on their third album in a secluded log cabin in Sweden. Speaking to 6Music, guitarist Edd Gibson said the trio were going to try and alienate themselves in order to come with ideas for the follow up to last year's 'Pala'.

He said:

I think we are trying to force on an element of the film The Shining, or the book The Shining, as a cultured gentleman who reads and doesn't just watch films… We're trying to alienate ourselves into a world of music alone and see what we come up with.

Gibson went on to explain that the band will be spending just under two weeks in Sweden. "We're off for 10 days just to be away from everything and do the exploratory music making, we will see how it goes." Frontman Ed Macfarlane added: "We tend to write quite good music in quite secluded, quite bleak places, in minus 25 degrees weather, Sweden, log cabin, pretty bleak."
