Foals confirm new album release date

New single 'Inhaler' to get first play on November 5

Foals have confirmed that their new album ‘Holy Fire’ will be released in February.

The album, the Oxford band’s third following debut album ‘Antidotes’ and 2010’s ‘Total Life Forever’, will be available from February 11, 2013.

‘Inhaler’, the first single from ‘Holy Fire’ will be given its premiere on November 5. The album is produced by Flood & Moulder whose previous credits include work with Smashing Pumpkins, PJ Harvey, Nine Inch Nails, and The Killers.

Speaking to NME about the new album, frontman Yannis Philippakis recently said, “There are some heavier moments and some dirtier moments. It’s swampy, some of the grooves are quite stinky. There’s a track called ‘My Number’ that had a Curtis Mayfield groove which was pretty unashamedly funk, for want of a better word.”

He added: “We’ve always been pretty rhythmically preoccupied, but once the four-on-the-floor, hi-hat, indie disco stuff’s dead and buried with a chain of garlic around its neck, that feels like a really fertile place to go to.”

Foals have also announced details of a short tour of intimate venues this November and December. They will play:

Sheffield Queens Social Club (November 28)

Leicester Lock 42 (29)

Stoke Sugarmill (30)

Doncaster Leopard (December 2)

Derby The Venue (3)

Gloucester Guildhall (4)

Southampton Cellar (6)

Bournemouth Sixty Million Postcards (7)

Aldershot West End Centre (8)

Brighton Concorde 2 (10)

Tunbridge Wells The Forum (11)
