Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis has described their headline slot at Latitude tonight (July 21) as a "pinch me moment" for the band.

The Oxford band have previously topped the bill at London's Field Day, a smaller bash, but Latitude marks their biggest festival headline slot to date.

Speaking to NME, Philippakis said: "Something like Latitude, we're just well up for it, and it is a little surreal seeing the posters [and us] being above certain bands that we hold in such high regard. It feels like a sort of pinch me moment." The frontman then added: "I feel like we're just playing better than we've ever played before."

Foals, who released their acclaimed third studio album 'Holy Fire' earlier this year, will close the Suffolk festival tonight with a set at the Obelisk Arena from 9.30pm. Bloc Party headlined on Friday and Kraftwerk topped the bill last night (July 20) with their 3D performance.

Foals are now midway through a run of summer festivals across Europe, North America, Japan and South Korea. The band played Glastonbury last month (June) and will be back in the UK for sets at Reading And Leeds Festivals on August 23 and 24.
