The nominations for the 6th annual UK Music Video Awards have been announced.

Foals, Dizzee Rascal, Florence + The Machine, Flying Lotus, Bjork, James Blake, Laura Mvula, London Grammar, and Jon Hopkins are amongst the artists whose videos have been tipped in the nominations. The winners will be announced at a ceremony which takes place at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London's Southbank Centre on October 28.

Speaking about the event, the awards' editorial director, David Knight, commented: "The MVAs has become a globally-recognised event for celebrating the outstanding creative work in music videos in the UK and around the world. Last year filmmakers travelled from Europe and the United States to attend our biggest show ever. It was a very good night indeed."

Many of the awards are split into UK and International production categories. In the Best Rock/Indie Video – UK, Bloc Party's 'Ratchet' is up against Foals' 'Late Night', Is Tropical's 'Dancing Anymore' and Tame Impala's 'Mind Mischief', amongst others, whilst in the International Best Rock/Indie Video category, Phoenix's 'Trying To Be Cool' is pitted against Portugal The Man's 'Modern Jesus' and Yeah Yeah Yeahs' 'Sacrilege'.
