Foals' Edwin Congreave and Friendly Fires' Jack Savidge will DJ on Wednesday night (December 3) at the ice rink at London's Somerset House, under their Deep Shit alias.

The pair have run the Deep Shit record label, club night and radio show for the past few years and will be playing together as Deep Shit On Ice for the Skate at Somerset House with Fortnum & Mason run of events. For more information visit Somersethouse.org.uk .

Jack, who has DJed at the prestigious London venue before for Bugged Out, has said of the event: "It's very, very Christmas-y. There's a lot more falling over than in a club – actually, maybe as much falling over as in a club. There are definitely some show-offs, [so it's] like any other club really." The duo will be playing a house based set during the evening, which runs from 8.30-11.30pm. "I really want to play lots of disco," said Edwin. "Music that i wouldn't normally play when I DJ and also lots of big tunes."

Speaking about their plans for Deep Shit next year, Jack explained that the two will continue to run their club night at the London Edition Hotel and also fire up the label, which has been dormant of late. "We're continuing with nights. They're going to get bigger and better and more monthly than ever before," said Jack. "We're in the middle stages of re-booting the label. We did four releases on it and then had a breather from it at the beginning of the year, but we're going to get that up and running for 2015."

Jack added that the forthcoming releases would come from "friends and relations" as well as "established artists". He said that they could also release more solo pieces from the pair. "There's some bits and bobs from ourselves floating aroud that might come out," he said. In 2012 the label released Edwin's solo house track, 'Heal'.

The duo revealed that they have had to use an asterisk in the name Deep Shit for the event. "I think we are learning that it was a rather wreckless bit of nomenclature," commented Jack of their risque title. "We did the 6 Mix on 6Music but we weren't allowed to say the name."

The Skate at Somerset House with Fortnum & Mason series runs until January, with DJ sets still to come from Ninja Tune, Lovebox and more. See below for the full listings.
