Foals say frontman Yannis 'sounds like Phil Mitchell' after he suffers vocal injury
Band pull out of Live Lounge session after singer suspects that he's 'snapped his larynx'
The band had been scheduled to perform a Live Lounge session for Radio 1 on Wednesday (September 2), with the group announcing that were "disappointed" to have to cancel the appearance.
A statement from the band said: "Sadly, after sound checking this morning, Foals were forced to cancel their Radio 1 Live Lounge session today, because Yannis went down with what we think is laryngitis. He has a doctors appointment this evening."
"Think i snapped my larynx," Philippakis wrote on Twitter, before bandmate Jack Bevan added on Instagram, "Unfortunately @ynnsphilippakis sounds like Phil mitchel after a tracheostomy. Sorry to anyone who was listening. Old mate is off to the doctors now. Hopefully we'll be back in the live lounge again soon. Xxxx"

Foals played surprise sets at both Reading and Leeds festivals over the weekend, with organiser Melvin Benn later tipping them as future headliners.
Speaking to NME, Benn said that he is convinced that Foals will headline the festival one day, but confirmed that while one headline act is already booked for 2016 it is not the Oxford band.
Benn praised the band and said, "I've made no secret of the fact that I want Foals as headliners." However, Foals rise to the top of the bill might not be as immediate at next year's festival.
"Will it be next year? or the year after?" Benn added. "There's no decisions on that, no discussions on it. Foals are an amazing band and they will be a future headliner."
