FOLK IN FILM!

Folk Implosion are to play an up-coming Britpop band in a new movie starring Oscar winning actress FRANCES McDORMAND as their manager.


In the movie 'Laurel Canyon', Lou Barlow's outfit play a band who are trying to come up with a hit single with their producer, played by 'Fargo' star McDormand. The film, set for release in the US on March 7, also stars Kate Beckinsale, Christian Bale and Alessandro Nivola.


Folk Implosion have previously ventured into films, providing the soundtrack for 'Kids' in 1995, which gave the band their biggest hit, 'Natural One'.


The band release their new album, titled 'The New Folk Implosion', in March to coincide with the film's release.


To promote the movie, Barlow is to play a solo show at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah In January, and the full band will play at the film's premiere party.


The band will then tour the US in March. Dates are to be announced shortly.
