Part of the fothcoming Live Earth concerts have been cancelled due to lack of funds and timing.
The Turkish leg of the world event, which aims to highlight climate change, has been shelved and will be now be replaced by giant TV screens projecting concerts from the other eight cities.
A spokesman for Purple Concerts said: "There was no possibility to hold a live performance due to lack of time."
Organisers of the Turkish leg had initially hoped to stage a scaled down version of the Istanbul gig even though they admitted it would be difficult.
But lack of sponsorship up against a tight schedule forced organisers to pull the plug altogether, reports BBC News.
Tokyo, Hamburg, New York, Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg, Sydney and London are among the cities set to stage concerts for the event.
Foo Fighters, Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Bloc Party, Kasabian and Beastie Boys are among the acts set to appear at the London leg.
