The Foo Fighters star will join the former Beatle onstage

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is to join Paul McCartney onstage at the former Beatle's Liverpool gig this weekend (June 1).

The two frontmen will team up at Anfield Stadium gig on Sunday, held as part of the celebrations for Liverpool's European Capital Of Culture accolade.

It is not yet known which song the two will collaborate on.

Foo Fighters perform at City Of Manchester Stadium the following night (June 2), supported by Manic Street Preachers and The Futureheads.

Grohl's band then hit London's Wembley Stadium for two gigs on June 6 and 7.

Supergrass will support both nights, joined by Against Me! on June 6 and The Futureheads the following night.
