Dave Grohl is set to make a cameo in the new Muppets film.

The Foo Fighters frontman will reportedly stand in for regular Muppets drummer Animal while he attends anger management treatment as part of the movie's plot.

The new film, which is written by and stars How I Met Your Mother actor Jason Segel, also features cameos from Jack Black, Ricky Gervais and Lady Gaga.

This isn't Grohl's first film cameo. He appeared with Black in Tenacious D's 2006 film The Pick Of Destiny, reprising the role of Satan that he'd played in the band's video for 'Tribute'.

Grohl is currently working on the new Foo Fighters album and has also contributed drums to a track on Michael Jackson's posthumous album 'Michael', which was released on Monday (December 13).
