Foo Fighters have unveiled a send-up video to advertise their live comeback in Mexico this December – click at the bottom of the page and click to watch.

The clip – which hypes up the band's scheduled headline show at Mexico City's 55,000-capacity Foro Sol stadium on December 13 – features the actor Erik Estrada, most famous for his role on US TV show CHiPS in the '70s and '80s. It follows his quest to interrupt the band from a series of 'mature' chores such as washing the car and mowing the grass, in order to persuade them to reform.

Foo Fighters' last gig was in New York in September 2012 at the Global Festival event. Earlier this year, Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett revealed that the band are planning to begin recording their new album early next year (2014). Dave Grohl also recently confirmed that the album, the band's follow-up to 2011's 'Wasting Light', has now been written and hinted at a 2014 release date.

"It's a little way off," Grohl explained, talking to XFM in August. "It's not ready to happen right now, but I think next year is going to be a really big year for the Foo Fighters without question." Going on to tease that the album will "not be a conventional record" he added: "We are going to make this album in a way that no-one's ever done before, and we're pretty excited about it."

Shiflett subsequently echoed Grohl's comments by telling Rolling Stone: "We actually just started making a new Foo Fighters record within the last few weeks. We've started rehearsing." However, he went further than his bandmate by adding: "It was a very short hiatus. We're going to start recording the new Foo Fighters record at the beginning of next year."
