Dave Grohl has produced and played drums on 'The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1', a new album by country act the Zac Brown Band.

Grohl recently made an appearance at the Country Music Awards with the Zac Brown Band on November 6, performing new track 'Day For The Dead' at the Nashville bash. 'The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1' will be available on iTunes from December 10. The release will include 'Day Of The Dead' as well as tracks such as 'All Alright' 'Let It Rain' and 'The Muse'.

Foo Fighters frontman recently discussed his work with the Zac Brown Band with Rolling Stone, saying: "The band is so good they can be tracked live; we didn't fuck with computers, we tracked live, four-part harmonies around one microphone. It's rocking. People are like, 'Oh, it's country.' 'No, it's not, it's like the Allman Brothers.' 'No, it's not, it's jam band.' I don't even know what you would call it, it's fucking great."

Earlier this month Foo Fighters teased their comeback by posting an image of a blood splattered guitar on their Facebook page. The image was taken as Dave Grohl and bandmates rehearse for their live comeback at a gig in Mexico in December. The picture was tagged with the caption: "First practice. Been too long. Look out, Mexico."

Earlier this year Dave Grohl revealed that the new Foo Fighters album has now been written. Grohl has previously teased that the band's next album, the follow-up to 2011's 'Wasting Light', will "not be a conventional record".
