A post on Foo Fighters' Facebook page earlier today appears to suggest that the band may announce UK live dates in the neat future.

The band recently confirmed they would release the follow-up to 2011's 'Wasting Light' later this year, with the new record recorded in eight different studios in eight states across America. It will be accompanied by a mini series broadcast on HBO, documenting the recording progress. Dave Grohl will operate as director on the project, following his Sound City documentary of 2013.

A message posted on the band's Facebook page today (May 26) hints at live dates in Britain and reads: "Hey UK pals... It's been WAYYY too long. If you want to make sure to stay up on all the news. Sign up by clicking the envelope here. Cause you never know where/when the Foo's may show up. Just sayin..."

The band revealed in January that sessions for their new album were "fucking on" by posting a picture of a row of master tapes labelled 'Foo Fighters LP 8' to their official Instagram. Speaking to BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe, Grohl said: "I know what it sounds like and I honestly think the entire concept is really going to take people by surprise and it sounds nuts."

Earlier this month, the band played a career-spanning set at Washington DC's 9.30 Club in tribute to the band Trouble Funk. Last month they shared pictures of the recording sessions for their new album.
