A Foo Fighters fan was reduced to tears after Dave Grohl invited him on stage with the band in Hamburg this week (June 3).

The unnamed fan was spotted by Grohl during the O2 World gig as he was holding a huge picture of the frontman's face that he had painted. Pointing out the "crazy mother fucker with the picture", Grohl brought him onto the stage and signed the picture before sending him backstage.

Foo Fighters recently kicked off their UK and Ireland tour at Sunderland's Stadium of Light with an epic, two and-a-half hour performance on May 25. Having also played in Manchester, the band will stop off in Ireland, London and Edinburgh before their Glastonbury Festival headline slot at the end of June.

The band played Old Trafford in Manchester last on May 27 as part of a UK tour. Seeing a fan singing the lyrics to their 2002 single 'Times Like These', singer Dave Grohl told the crowd: "I just saw this little kid singing our lyrics over there," before inviting the eight year old fan, named Frankie, onto the stage to duet on the track
