The new Muppets series is being steered by Bill Prady, co-creator of The Big Bang Theory, and Bob Kushell, formerly an executive producer on 3rd Rock From The Sun. Prady is a longtime Muppets writer who scripted the 1990 TV special The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson.

Characters Kermit and Miss Piggy recently announced that they are no longer romantically involved in the new series, though they reassured fans that they will "continue to work together on television and in all media now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity, throughout the universe".
