¡Forward, Russia! cancel Newcastle gig

Band pull out after singer suffers with throat problems

¡Forward, Russia! cancel Newcastle gig

¡Forward, Russia! were forced to postpone a gig last night (April 19) after singer Tom Woodhead came down with throat problems.

The band were due to perform at Newcastle's Academy 2 venue but pulled the gig when doctors advised the singer to rest his voice.

A statement on their website said: "We are sorry to inform you that tonight's show in Newcastle is postponed - due to Tom suffering from voice /throat problems.

"He was able to complete the set yesterday in Dundee, but doctors have decided that it would be unwise to play tonight. Currently we plan to continue the shows from Sunday's date in Liverpool.

"Once again, we send our apologies. Please hold on to tickets as we plan to reschedule the show shortly."

The band's remaining dates are:

Liverpool Barfly (April 20)
Bristol Thekla (21)
London Kings College (22)
Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms (23)
Kingston The Works (24)
Birmingham Barfly (25)
Manchester Academy 3 (27)
Leeds Cockpit (28)
Nottingham Rescue Rooms (29)
