Fountains Of Wayne provide material for rom-com

Fountains Of Wayne's Adam Schlesinger has provided three original songs for ’Music and Lyrics’, the new movie starring Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant.

Schlesinger wrote ’Way Back Into Love’, the song that Grant and Barrymore's characters struggle to "write" throughout the film.

The star also composed two songs performed solo by Grant entitled ’Don't Write Me Off’ and ’Meaningless Kiss’, featuring backing vocals by ABC frontman Martin Fry.

In I996, Schlesinger was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Original Song for his title song to the Tom Hanks-directed ‘That Thing You Do.’

As previously reported on NME.COM, the new Fountains Of Wayne album ’Traffic and Weather’ will be released on April 3, and the band have confirmed an appearance at the Bonnaroo Festival in Tennessee in June.
