Judge wants more info on Foxy Brown's hearing
Further details needed before release is granted
Acting Supreme Court Justice Melissa Jackson has said she needs more information about Foxy Brown’s hearing impairment before she can release her for medical care.
Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand asked to be released from prison early to treat a hearing issue she says is worsening in prison.
She wants to go to a doctor in California whom she says she is the only person to have treated her condition successfully.
Assistant District Attorney Cindy Chung objected to the request. She said Brown had not proved that the treatment could not be carried out in New York. She also added that prisoners do not get to choose their doctors.
Brown’s lawyer was ordered to give her medical records to the district attorney, the Department of Correction and the Department of Probation.
