Frank Turner has confirmed he will release his new album 'Tape Deck Heart' in April.

The album, Turner's fifth studio effort as a solo artist, was produced by Rich Costey (Muse, Weezer, Rage Against The Machine) and will be released on April 22. Speaking to NME about his choice of producer in the new issue out today (January 16), Turner said, "I'm an enormous Weezer fan. There's a fair amount of Weezer influence on this record."

Turner also tells NME the album is "a break-up record". He says:

It's a record about what you do when something that was supposed to be perfect comes to its natural end. But it's not all heartache.

The album is the follow up to 2011 record 'England Keep My Bones'. Turner will tour the UK in April to promote the release. Discussing the record in a message to fans, Turner says: "So, friends, the time is finally upon us! My new record is called 'Tape Deck Heart'. There will be two versions – the normal record, and then a special edition with special packaging and an extra six songs. I'm pleased as punch with it. Some of you will know some of the songs from us playing them live, but there's a whole bunch of new stuff on there as well. I hope you like it!"
