Frank Turner to answer Iron Maiden questions on 'Celebrity Mastermind'

Frank Turner is set to appear on an upcoming episode of Celebrity Mastermind.

Turner's specialist subject will be Iron Maiden and the singer-songwriter will guest on the show alongside punk poet John Cooper Clarke, actor Ben Faulks and comedian Roy Hudd. The show will air on January 3, 2014 at 7pm on BBC One. For more information on the episode, visit BBC.co.uk.

Speaking about his appearance on the show on his own fan forum, Turner commented: "I am going on the show, yes. Actually, going on Mastermind has been a dream of mine since I was a kid. I'm such a dork."

Frank Turner was recently in the studio recording his hardcore project Mongol Horde's debut album. Turner launched the band in August 2012 with gigs in London and Leeds as well as at Reading and Leeds Festivals. The band also features Turner's former Million Dead bandmate Ben Dawson and Matt Nasir, who is a member of the singer's current backing band The Sleeping Souls.

Turner will perform seven huge gigs in February 2014, starting in Cardiff on February 6 and ending in Portsmouth on February 13. Gigs in Nottingham, Edinburgh, Manchester, Plymouth and London will also take place.
