FRANZ FERDINAND MANIA IN LONDON!

Many fans left out in the cold as hundreds show up to see the NME cover stars at Fopp...

Franz Ferdinand played a jam-packed instore gig today (January 12), leaving many fans outside in the cold desperate to catch a glimpse of 2004's hottest band.

Following on from Saturday's (January 10) set at the central London Rough Trade shop, this week's NME cover stars attracted hundreds of people to their intimate set at independent record store Fopp down the road, completely filling out the small venue.

Streams of fans queued throughout the shop to catch a glimpse of the Scottish four-piece rip through a blistering set, which featured tracks from their forthcoming self-titled album, including 'Tell Her Tonight', 'Darts Of Pleasure', 'Cheating On You' and the current single 'Take Me Out'.

Franz Ferdinand then held a signing session for the rapturous crowd.

As previously reported on NME.COM, Franz Ferdinand returned to their roots when they played an intimate gig on New Year's Eve in a friend's Edinburgh flat, after their Hogmanay show for more than 100,000 people was cancelled due to bad weather.
