Franz Ferdinand feature on kids album

Franz Ferdinand are set to feature on ’The Colours Are Brighter’, an album of children’s songs curated by Belle & Sebastian.

Franz will contribute the song ’Jackie Jackson’.

Other bands featured on the star-studded album include The Kooks, who do ’The King & I’, The Flaming Lips' ’The Big Ol’ Bug Is The New Baby Now’ and Belle & Sebastian contribute ’The Monkeys Are Breaking The Zoo’.

The album is due to be released in October, with all proceeds going to Save The Children.

Ivor Cutler Trio – ‘Mud’
The Flaming Lips – ‘The Big Ol’ Bug Is The New Baby Now’
Belle & Sebastian – ‘The Monkeys are Breaking Out Of The Zoo’
Kathryn Williams – ‘Night Baking’


As previously reported by NME.COM, Franz Ferdinand's Alex Kapranos and Nick McCarthy are also set to take part in the childrens programme at this year's Edinburgh International Book Festival. The pair will discuss lyric writing on August 22.
